This is your gull on 5'2...

with thicker rails, as well as nose-tail foil, hulled bottom, friendlier all around 'cause 5'2 sho idn't a lot of board.

reminds me of:

Albers riding his original D.bowls, shot by Jdubsingles (check out the full sequence here).

and some details and pics of the board/design on my website, here.

Happy Turkey Day!

I've never been there, don't really know what we celebrate it for, but dammit, I do like their native dished that we seem to worship...or warship...speaking of...this thing is badass:

Biggie Sized

7' x 23 x 3 and 7'4 x 23 x 3 BigSims...first of the large scale type for me, i wasn't super excited about them as an idea but once they took shape i quickly fell in love with next board will most definitely be one of these!

Twofer Reviews

Getting lots and lots of epic emails lately, here's two from the past few boards that have been posted...

Pete's Quadsim:

Ryan~ stoked on the velo/sim/quad!!! It seems that Cardiff Reef is the testing ground for your new boards down this way.  I got some head waves down there today with some good ol' buddies.

First wave was a little weird but then second, third....the board came alive under my feet!  I could not believe the speed down the line...the drive off the bottom...the acceleration from turn to turn...outrageous! I had so much f**ing FUN! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I really enjoyed the liveliness of the stringer-less foam. My favorite moment of the sess, was when I grabbed rail...cutback...and was blown away at the amount of speed it generated...i mean insane...i came back at the white wash so fast i did not even have a chance to rebound of the wash. that little board lit up my day. thank you so much. i cannot wait to get some more waves on it!!
all the best!

and Nathan's modified T-Rev:

What can I say? Two sessions in on the new 5'5" round-tail quad, and it's already my favorite board I've ever owned. It's super loose and flow-y, and yet it screams down the line when it's time to get moving. It rockets out of bottom turns. It's exactly what I wanted for going backside at the points: sensitive off the back foot, loves to go up at the lip and comes around quick, gets into waves with plenty of speed, and has plenty of foam to carry me. I surfed a local right-hand reef this morning in chest high waves and had so much fun--best session in a long time. I'm just getting started on this board; it's already allowing me to go places I want to go in an instant, but I can tell that riding it is going to make me a better surfer. Can't wait to surf it in big waves. Thank you for investing in your gift. You know what you're doing.

...kinda makes being covered in dust and resin every day worth it :)
both of their boards are posted below, and HAPPY SUNDAY!

I've said it before.

THIS email is exactly why I build surfboards, Alex picked up his Dreadnought on saturday morning, and by sunday night I had this in my inbox:

Hey Ryan, I took the Dreadnought out to Cardiff on Sunday. Super sick. I can't believe how responsive the board is. It is by far one of the best boards I have ever ridden; picking up when it needed to. I am really really amped on the board and I wanted to tell you thank you for making it. Keep up whatever youre doing, cause its working! I'll keep you updated on other sessions. Thanks again.

Pete S's Quadsim

A little pep got put in this sim's step...double concave running through the board's belly to triplane setup adds drive when she's on rail, a bit quicker rail to rail and pulled in all over...not to mention double the amount of fins :)

Oh ya, stringerless also!

PY Likes 'em Bright

PY's second board from me (first is a 6'0 gull: check it!), this mean-green-Velosim-machine is 5'5 x 23 x 3, seemingly standard sim style dimensions, but i'd hate to call anything about these 'standard'!
Glass-on baltic birch keels, hand foiled at the same shop it was shaped and glassed at.....mine :)

Herbie Likes Handplanes

My buddy Scott French up in Santa Cruz has been churning out some unreal hand-planes for the purpose of bodysurfing; i've been using mine mainly for itty bitty hollow waves and the lift you get is pretty amazing considering their size...push it out in front and away you go, bring it in and hold it under you and wait for the barrel.
well worth adding to your quiver to spice up your surf-life...check it:

Hot damn, today the Brown Pelican was taken off the Endangered Species list!

There are now some 650,000 or so of these brilliant, big-beaked buggers, and I couldn't be happier about it...heres to hoping that our good friends keep poppin' out them babies, even if they aren't super least they're majestic... day...

Did you know:  The Brown Pelican is actually higher on the food chain than the Brown Bear?

This is what surfing looks lie to fishies?

Website Update!

Okay, enough with the pretty pictures (i lie...there's more coming tonight...).

There are some updates on the PC website if you care to check it out, new models added in the Glider section (D.bowls and Miniglider) and a new Stub also (Pinky).  There is new info in the ordering section for you international guys, too!
I've hooked up with some wonderful people abroad who want to spread the PC seed, and now will be taking custom orders all over Europe.
Boards can be shaped by me and mailed over, or to save you guys some $, they can be shaped in the UK by new crew member Tim Mason, a well respected hull fanatic!

I couldn't be happier with the new changes, but all in all, its more the same than ever :)
